Alexis Nuselovici (NOUSS) is Chair of Modern Cultural Studies and convenor of the MA in Translation Studies at the School of European Languages, Translation and Politics, Cardiff University, U K. He is also Associate professor in the Department of linguistics and translation, University of Montreal, Canada. He has been invited as guest professor in France,Spain, Turkey, and Brazil. His research interests include theory of translation, European cultures, cultural hybridity and métissage, aesthetics of modernism and postmodernism, and Holocaust literature.
He founded and is chairing ‘POEXIL’ in Montreal, the ‘Cardiff Research Group on the Politics of Translating’ in Cardiff and ‘Non-lieux de l’exil’ in Paris. He is also a founding member of the ‘Grupo de Investigación TRADUCCIÓN & PARATRADUCCIÓN’ (Vigo University, Spain) and is active in other international research units. He sits on several international journal editorial boards. He is supervising the poetry translation website ‘Transpoetry’ (www.transpoetry.eu).
He is also a translator, and has written several opera libretti.
